God’s SingularityBy: Joseph H. MurraySeeing that God has only one introduction to Himself for man, there will be only one time of rejection of man from Himself. That is, that great day of Judgment, when He will say to the workers of iniquity, “Depart from me”, and to the righteous, He will say, “Enter thou into the joys of the Lord”. He needs no help from man in performing these transactions. Therefore, man has nothing to do with a man or woman being born again or becoming a church member. If His “one faith”, “one hope”, “one Lord”, “one baptism”, “one body”, “one Spirit”, and the oneness of Himself is sufficient, I’m sure His one Judgment shall be sufficient. “Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way” (Rom. 14:13). “Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God” (1Cor. 4:5). Judgment of the sinner and the ungodly are not yet come, so, we must wait until God’s appointed time. “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator” (1Pet. 4:17–19). |
