Crash on the HighwayBy: Joseph H. MurrayI Lives are lost Both near and far; On the highways They travel in their car. They hit one another Or overturn as they speed– God have mercy On this terrible breed. II Bodies are broken And disfigured for life; Glasses are shattered And cut like a knife. The doctors with patience Reshape these lumps of clay– A form that’s made In God’s image they say. III The victims then stumble And flounder about; The pain they have suffered, There is no doubt.
